Dagupan flood worsened by 1990 earthquake?

A GREAT fact of life showed up during the calamitous floods — People after all care for one another.

The little and big things that we did for our fellow men in distress made God smile. Praise Him!

We felt great our doter Pebbles, in coordination with super Malacañang Assistant Bong Go, came to our city mates and fellow Pangasinenses in their hour of distress to distribute relief items.

She, like Bong Go, gave meaning to Christ’s teaching to love the poor.

What? May mahilig mag-batikos kahit rumaragasa ang baha, deep in their blame game?

Naman! Kailan kayo magpapalit ng ugali, local parishes? Kwidaw kayo sa ayaw ng Panginoon!

Advice natin dyan, topak yo ray tinapay. That’s the Christian act.

At the wake of Mayor Al, yes, we were able to make it amid the flood, civic leader Benjun Tan and wife Norma told us about the Netherlands strategy to beat floods.

            We are happy that 8 out of 10 have great ideas to solve our problems. Sana magawa yong Netherlands strategy sa atin.

            As we dig deeper into the Dagupan floods, let’s not forget that the city was greatly damaged by the 1990 earthquake! Malaking bagay yon sa paganalisa ng character ng ating ciudad.

            We could not forget the sturdy Dagupeños who worked as one man in the name of saving the city, sina Mayor Al, our brod Dr. Ado, Dr. Viven, Benjie, Speaker JDV, and everyone tutok na tutok sa rescue and rebuilding efforts. Sana that other-centered spirit stay forever.

We received this text message just now from Engr. Vic T. Saldivar – “Let’s pray for the new DPWH team who are picking up the pieces squandered by irresponsible elements.

No blame pointing… more forward without let up.

Make sure you are not living a life so caught up and imprisoned in this world’s measures and standards. If you get involved in the rat race, you end up living like a rat filled with so many insecurities and exhausted in a useless, vain and empty race. And stop “keeping up with the Joneses”. Be your best self. According to God’s standards, and you will have a peaceful life.
