Death penalty, war on drugs, Duterte’s health

SENATE TACKLES DEATH PENALTY IN JANUARY. It pays to remember that magistrates are but human and are not infallible. Innocent suspects sometimes fall victims to honest error in judgment, judicial incompetence or misconduct, and no procedural remedy can resurrect them from their graves.

MURDER, ETC. RAPS FILED VS. DUTERTE; HE IS IMMUNE FROM SUIT AND THE ONLY REMEDY IS TO IMPEACH HIM FROM OFFICE FIRST, PALACE SAYS. At a cost of P50 million per vote or even more? May God forbid, but people might just pitch him out of sight, instead.

CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS? Don’t forget to transfer the power to appoint the judges and justices from the President to the Supreme Court. Nor all Presidents are lawyers; some of them only know how to read and write, and some lawyer-Presidents care only for politics. It is the SC that expectedly knows the deserving appointees. All the politicians think of are partymates, compadres, friends and relatives, tho incompetent. That explains why justice in our country runs like stagnant and murky waters and smells bad at times.

DUTERTE: I’M NOT A KILLER. He no longer pulls the trigger himself.

SEEKING THE PRESIDENCY WAS HIS MISTAKE. Who can fathom the Lord’s mysterious ways? Let’s give Duterte the benefit of the doubt if he halts extrajudicial killings and feigned drug buy-bust operations. Let him make amends with his victims before the Lord moves them to resort to their own mysterious ways.

DUTERTE: HE HAS NO CANCER BUT JUST UNBEARABLE PAIN IN HIS SPINE. The sorrow, the loss and the pain his drug war is causing on the victims and their loved ones are more unbearable and excruciating.

WAR ON DRUGS WILL FAIL. What war? It has always been a one-sided, lopsided unprovoked and unilateral act of criminal aggression which PNP reports as self-defense. There’s no way for the “war” to end because the real drug lords seem to be untouchable and immune from prosecution even.

RECONSIDER SUSPENSION OF ANTI-POVERTY FUNDING FOR THE PHL, US ASKED. Why not say “putang ina mo” and “go to hell” to Trump? He might even release twice as much.

US SHOULD GIVE THE AID WITHOUT CONDITIONS. We may use the money to fund extrajudicial killings?

US SAYS DUTERTE ADMISSION THAT HE KILLED CRIME SUSPECTS IS DEEPLY TROUBLING. He should at least be credited for being honest, now that the crimes must have prescribed.

UN RAPPORTEUR WANTS DUTERTE TO DROP CONDITIONS FOR HER TO VISIT AND LOOK INTO THE DRUG-RELATED DEATHS. Why not just leave him to his devices? His local approval rating is still high among the self-righteous simpletons who may not have even heard of the Bill of Rights.

AGUIRRE MULLS 100-MAN STRIKE FORCE VS CRIME, CORRUPTION. How glad he must be that Miriam is gone! Let him target only those in the opposition, or no one would be left to populate the land, and that includes him.
