Stoning of vehicles persists

LINGAYEN—Despite the “three-strike” policy imposed on chiefs of police that will lead to their relief from their posts, stoning of vehicles continues in parts of Pangasinan.

The two latest stoning incidents involved a Dagupan Bus No. 8417 driven by Recto Quiroga, 39, of Barangay Torre 2nd, Mangatarem, and another, a Chevrolet Trailblazer owned and driven by a councilor of Mangaldan town at 10:46 a.m. on May 7.

The Dagupan Bus was stoned by a still unidentified suspect while traveling along the national highway in Bangan Oda, Agno town, at about 3:30 a.m. on May 7.

The stone broke the bus’ left rear window. Quiroga immediately reported the incident to the Agno police that immediately conducted an investigation.

Meanwhile, the car of Mangaldan councilor Aldrin Soriano, 26, suffered a small dent on the front window (passenger side) from a stone thrown also by an unidentified person along the national highway in Barangay Sta. Maria, San Jacinto.

He said he reported the incident to the San Jacinto police. (Leonardo Micua)
