TWO newly-emerged drug personalities from Manaoag and Mangaldan were arrested for drugs in a sting operation conducted by Dagupan City policemen, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), at about 11:50 p.m. of Dec. 22 near Nepo Mall  on Arellano-Bani in Dagupan City.

Arrested by policemen in the drug buy-bust operation were Marvin Jay Obra, 28, of Zone 6 in Barangay Babasit, Manaoag, and Joana Ariz, 23, a saleslady of Barangay Sagud Baley, San Fabian,

Both agreed to meet an undercover policeman who acted as buyer of marijuana at the appointed place and time with the help of a confidential agent.

Soon as Obra accepted the marked money of P500 bill as payment for one big plastic sachet of marijuana and handed it to Ariz, both were placed under arrest.

The operation was witnessed by barangay officials of Barangay Pantal in Dagupan City.

Both are now temporarily detained at the Dagupan City police detention jail while cases of Art II Sec 5 (drug pushing) of Republic Act No. 9165 are now being readied against them. (Leonardo Micua)
