LOOKING FORWARD TO NICE THINGS IN LIFE

Photos and short story by Art G. Valenzuela

With positivity, our SUNDAY PUNCH online and this contributor always look forward to nice things in life. I am sure you, too, are longing to tour the countryside once more and enjoy a breathtaking sunset in an another place “where two souls can beat together as one” —  hopefully when this pandemic has been brought under control.

Meantime, what most of us can do is find a useful hobby and enjoy the refreshing colors of green, gold, brown and more in your own garden. Featured in this album are some varieties of Mayana (coleus blumei) of which there are hundreds of varieties, and these collections are only some of the fifty that we have in our private garden courtesy of my wife Norma. Aside from the pleasant visuals that it exudes with, Mayana  “is one of the traditionally used folklore medicine(s) and is primarily used for pain, sore, swelling and cuts ….This plant is easy to grow in open grasslands. Mayana is also an herbal plant.”

Also included in this album are other plant varieties that could easily be grown at home especially the hanging plants. Visit and consult your favorite professional gardener and supplier.
