A ferry tale

The ferry boat?
It’s the economics, stupid!
A month ago, I was given the privilege of riding the swells from the Cultural Center to the ruins of Corregidor. First time.
The folks in that bunch were tourists enthusiastic enough to see where MacArthur fled and pushed Wainright under the bus.
The trip was so sad. Nothing to see and admire but the rotting cannons, starving monkeys and feral cats that populates the Tadpole.
The cost . . . P1880.00 pesos per head.
If the ferry boat is intended for tourism, then the operators will be in rude awakening.
The only way, this boondoggle could be made whole, is to charge the riding public the fare imposed by the buses and jeepneys. And the tourist is better off if he/she uses public transport to see and behold the countryside with garbage strewn all over the place.
And the skyline of the Gulf? What’s to see but miles and miles of emptiness and squatters along the beach?
If and when this dream . . . an impossible dream . . . of Mayors BRAGanza of Alaminos, ALIPA of Dagupan and FAKEdrosa of San Fernando would materialize remains to be seen.
Other than that . . . it’s just a ferry tale.
