What is happening to the country?

It seems like Gloria Macapagal Arroyo is in the process of making the Philippines a province of Communist China. How does she expect the country to pay back loans of 2 billion DOLLARS a year until 2010 at an inflated annual rate of 4 percent? She has connived with the Chinese to begin seismic exploration on Scarborough Shoal and its adjacent waters (an area which China claims as its exclusive territory.) What next? Does she plan to change the Philippines’ flag? Will she replace the sun, which represents the Republic and its provinces, with a red star?

Enough is enough! What is happening to the country?

The Philippines has been gifted by God in having an abundance of natural resources. It is one of the most literate of countries in the world. It has a plentiful supply of architects, engineers and other white collar professionals. There is a multitude of blue collar workers willing and capable to do the work now being given to foreign companies.

It is time for the voters to put and end to the misuse of the public trust. Time for them to stop voting for “their” representatives because they are related to a movie star, a public figure or a former president.

Corruption is like a weed; if it is not stopped in the beginning it will take over the whole garden. The eradication of the weeds must begin at the next election by voters who cannot be bought at a price and are educated on who and what they are voting on and oust those who have abused their office.

The Philippines was once known as “The Pearl of the Orient.” Together we can bring the title back.

God bless and have a pleasant Easter.
