Education & livelihood, instead of airports

The ongoing government plan to build an international airport in Pangasinan should be put on the back burner for an indefinite period of time.

At present, we already have 6 international airports in Luzon, namely, Laoag Intl., Subic Intl., Clark Intl., NAIA 1 & 2, and the controversial NAIA 3 which is yet to open.
By aviation scale, these international airports, spread out across Luzon, are in close proximity to each other. In other words, we have more than enough international airports in this part of the country to handle the mass of incoming and outgoing passengers in a given day.

To build another airport in the near future, be it in Alaminos or Santa Barbara, would be a waste of taxpayers’ money on a very costly nonessential.

The government should invest more in better education for our children; workable livelihood programs, affordable housing, cheaper medicine and health care for the poor; irrigation, and new technologies on how we can increase our food production for farmers; etc.

These are the things that matter most to the people.
