Dear Editor, The Sunday Punch
We were interested to read the article by Franco Munoz on managing arthritis (January 19). Please note that the U.S. Food & Drug Administration has approved the Synvisc treatment mentioned in the article for up to six months of pain relief, as opposed to the two to three weeks mentioned in the article.
Some patients may experience relief after the first injection; however, the most pain relief and the greatest amount of treatment success occur eight to 12 weeks after the initial treatment.
