What’s the big deal? If the land occupied by Tres Gracias and Oro Gracias Beach Resorts are there illegally, give them one of two choices: One- Pay any back taxes owed to the city, sign a lease and pay rent for past and future use of the land OR Two- Tear down the structure(s) at owner’s expense as stipulated in the questionable permit.
If the resort is to stand, consider the jobs created, tax money for the city coffers and money brought into the city by tourist. On the other hand if the structure(s)is to be torn down what is left but a piece of land, composed of sand, unoccupied, being of no use to anyone. If that tract of land were of great value it would have been pounced upon long ago.
If the resort is torn down I hope that a member or family of the city’s opposition political does not take the land for their own now that they see its potential.
