A follow-up on Mayor Alipa’s visit to America:

I attended the wake of my friend, Lamberto Arzadon, and one of the topics discussed was the “working visit” of the Dagupan’s big shots to America to promote PAWIL DAGUPAN and business opportunities.

I asked, “Why Alipa’s entourage did not come to Chicago as they usually do”? The Dagupan City Association of Chicago in no uncertain terms backed-off to extend the invitation when Alipa demanded, that the Association pick up the tab.

The Association did the heavy lifting the first time Alipa and his merry band was in Chicago, and was caught off-guard when they definitively asked first class. The expense was huge . . . and the Association was left hanging to dry.

Just a shot in the dark. Is it possible that the accommodations provided by the Dagupan Associations in America was reimbursed by the City of Dagupan to Alipa?

Probably so! Only Alipa and the Devil knew.
