Where are the priorities?

Mr. Jeremias Andrade Carrera,

Just still jetlagged after my visit in Dagupan after 10 years. The public schools you describe are just not imaginable for lots of us Fil-Ams. We are so used to schools being closed down when the water system or air condition are down for safety.

My account of Bonuan Gueset  (Dagupan) public school was during the recent barangay election when we visited the polling places where they are held. The class rooms were just appalling, not only were the desks and seats close to breaking and the temperatures in the class rooms were just horrific. The school structures were more than dilapidated, the soft fits were falling and the roof may have lots of leaks as evidenced by moisture damage.

I thought the CR or comfort room will be better because when I was stationed in Clark AFB in the ’70s I was hit several times by the principal to donate a CR. The CR was there but where was the water or paper or door?

They are talking about CyberEd project, and for what? How will it be sustained and maintained? A staff of the school said she is not going to wait for any computers through this project and instead asked for any computer she could use for her staff work to help lessen her overwhelming school work. This I could see would work and I would gladly send them a complete set in next balikbayan box.

As for the rich, the majority does not care because their kids go to private schools or abroad. What indifference! They make a big fuzz here in US when Cheney’s kids go to DC private schools instead of public schools and we are not even talking about structural differences here. The money you quoted should be spent in the structure first before anything else. Where are the priorities here?
