A bizarre engineering analysis

Dagupan City engineer’s analysis, excuses and bright ideas to solve the flooding problem:
Analysis: Nature causing the rise and fall of tide is the culprit and can not do anything about it. Flooding is also caused by prolonged rains and big volumes of water from the upland through the Sinocalan River.
Solution: Raise the roads by 50 to 80 centimeters. (Why only 50-80cm, why not 1 meter, just joking)
PCE’s Solution in one of his previous column: Enclose the perimeter of Dagupan with a levee. These guys must be joking, I hope.
Hindi lang pataasan ng ihi pala ang alam ng PINOY GINGINEER kundi pataasan ng kalsada.
Here is the other bigger PROBLEM: Clowncilor Karlos Reyna thanked the Assistant City Engineer for the “facts and figures about the flooding that could serve as a basis for future planning”.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is what you can call the “Most bizarre engineering analysis and planning of the century.
I hope the engineering colleges and universities take note of this and check the professional background of their engineering instructors and professors.
I pity those engineering students taking or took their classes under professors or instructors with such “BRIGHT IDEAS”.
I met a few of former students who maybe were often absent or not listening, or were under such professors, or all of the above. But the worst are those who went to “Claro M. Recto University”, and I happened to interview one who claimed to have a Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Degree.
The previous nursing examination’s cheating is minor compared to other professions that I know of. Only a President with a will to stop corruption can stop these problems.
