Dear Mr. Jazy Garcia: I am honored to learn you engaged the best in the 1992 and 2000 Olympics. Though I’d never seen your name plastered all over the news or standing in a pedestal, still am proud to know you humped behind those greats. Racing against Armstrong and his bunch, I could feel your pride, a Filipino, can compete in a sport invented and dominated by whites.

But, in the world of the Olympics or any sport, there’s no such thing as second best. Number one or nothing. The name of the game!
