The winning, a brief review
By Gonzalo Duque
THE non-stop euphoria amid Dagupan City’s celebrated championship in the R1AA should not gloss over its substantive meaning.
Aha, flash!!! R1MC chief of staff Ramon Bautista called up to report that “our local players bested all their opponents in a Friendship Games in Laoag City involving opponents in Regions 1 and 2!
Talaga ha? Congrats!!! See story somewhere this issue.
Back to the Dagupan special report.
The city’s victory in the R1AA was the result of the city leadership’s determination to “go for the gold,” so to speak, to win fair and square.
See, gentlemen and ladies, pag tinutukan ni Manang at gagawin niya, you can be sure it would be achieved, it will be a success, a great success.
A born leader ang Manang, let’s hug and congratulate her.
Isipin nyo, from number 14 ata, ang Dagupan, nag pole vault to No. 1!
Give it to Manang Belen, talagang maasahan. Tipakan ti met ira di Supt. Lorna Bugayong who stood by her to the detailed preparations so that success would be achieved.
Hmmm… but there’s a hint of sad news mga abay… medyo akaligtaan da tayo ya imbitaan at the victory party… Well, anyway, our proud son Nanoy was there!
Well, our presence was not that important anyway.
Our focus now is how to make a go for it, a meaningful course of action for what would sustain our winning. Yes, for sports in these parts.
It should be a culture, but and, in our view, that should be our take, our attitude, our ‘win’ culture.”
People around us attribute the winning to the development of sport facilities, well supervised equipping of our players, such as the use of good shoes not like those used in the past that pulled the players backward instead of forward, paatras! Oo nga and the constant guidance… we call that proper coaching, and related things.
We heard many young Dagupeños now wanting to join, to be in sports now… no, not only in basketball but in all fields.
Dagupan really made history!
Mabuhay to you, all winners!

Look at the beauty of talents!
Brod Sec. Pincoy was the guest of honor of the Nutritionist-Dieticians of the Philippines in Davao City on Feb. 22, Actually, he represented President Digong.
Pincoy had a “selfie” session with Pangasinan’s NDAP delegates Cathy Velasco, wife of Jun Velasco, and Millet Castillo, the two being past NDAP Pangasinan presidents.
We heard our Cumadre Cathy was twice recipient of “most outstanding provincial nutritionist” in 1998 “outstanding chapter’ when she was president of NDAP Pangasinan.

Can’t we, Provincial Director Ronald Lee and Dagupan Police chief Jandale Sulit, do something about the irritating, ear-splitting motorist noise in Dagupan City?
Our neighbors, we, ourselves included, are robbed of precious sleep when these mad dogs ply their nefarious trade.
Our handsome provincial director, who is outperforming his counterparts in all the league of provinces in the drug war seems wanting in doing something about this pet peeve.
