Celia’s withdrawal signals political unity and progress
By Gonzalo Duque
AFTER the second presidential debate held in Cebu City – the queen city of the south—it has loomed bright and clear that our favorite candidate for president, Mayor Rody Duterte is the most popular, most acceptable and most winnable among the five.
Unlike Vice President Jojo Binay who was caught flat-footed by LP presidential bet Mar Roxas as lying to his teeth for failing to answer why the city of Makati paid P1.5M instead of P34,000 for the purchase of an office curtain, Digong Duterte showed a gentleness to a lady, Sen. Grace Poe when he caught her unprepared to answer a question properly.
Grace looked naive and unprepared, but Digong did not insult her, but instead showed a friendly and polite gesture that earned the respect and approval of the audience.
Digong merely repeated the question, which was about her possible response when the country was attack and the crew was sleeping.
The unprepared Grace rattled away with alibis like seeing to it that budget should be increased for national defense, buy missiles, etc. which were obviously out of line.
Had it been Binay on deck, he should have roughed up Grace and probably got away with it.
Fate seems to be kinder to Duterte because when the surveys were made, he chalked up 30% over Poe’s 27% (Mar Roxas and Binay were poor third).
You must have come across the poll survey made by DZRH showing our candidate soaring sky high over Poe landing second but far behind.
Because of these developments, many political leaders from all over, north and south are switching their support to the winningest candidate.
They have unashamedly jumped ship. All this in our opinion because of the strong message of his running, which is to restore peace and order in the land and wipe away illegal drugs that are killing our young and the future of the country.
No less than our Manong “Bebot” Villar, well-known nemesis of drug addiction is supporting Duterte because of his anti-drug advocacy.
Manong Bebot and this columnist believe that Digong will be able to make true his battlecry that is to end criminality in 3 to 6 months.
Some people are skeptical but, he has Davao City, once a killing fields city, as proof of his leadership. Davao City now is the fourth most peaceful city in the world.
The other presidential pretenders prefer to be quiet on the issue of criminality.
Mabuhay si Digong! Our next president!

Loose talks over the withdrawal of Celia Lim from the mayoral race in Dagupan City still persist.
Some naughty people are saying on facebook that the Comelec did not approve of it.
If you ask us, her action was very appropriate because after all her son, re-electionist Brian Lim, is also assured of his second term.
Mabuti na ang ganito para walang malaking gastusan and it augers for political unity in the city.
Somebody suggested that Celia and Mayor Belen should be shown in public as raising in each others’ hands in the name of unity, reconciliation and progress.
Lahat ay panalo. Ang mga talo ay yong mga, as we often say, pikon. Mabuhay! Mabuhay tayong lahat!

As Dagupeños and visitor love to promenade along the De Venecia diversion road, our thoughts riveted to the need for installing a music machine that would play the oldies such as those in the sixties and seventies era. This would soothe the nerve of our friends who are often complaining of the untalusable music of our modern day young.
We often hear a remark that says the music of yesterdays is more alluring and sweet to the senses.
Our answer is our music composers of the past did not use drugs when composing their masterpieces.
Only a jigger of wine or a shot of brandy would send their imagination to highest heights.
How about it, people?
