Pangasinenses to back Kapunan for senate

IN a 2-hour talk before the Amazing Grace congregation in Brgy. Malued, Dagupan, we recalled our boyhood there, our birthplace.
Brod Pio Jr., better known as Pastor Boy, is the church steward.
Right after the Japanese occupation, Nanay Aurora gave birth to us. “It must be between 3 and 4 p.m.,”: Nanay recalled.
It was Fathers’ Day when we spoke there.
When we were 7, Tatay (the late Pio Velasco Sr.) took us to the Malued Elementary School to enroll.
We were reluctant to enroll. Life at home, on the very spot where the church stood was paradaisical.
But life, if it should have sense and meaning at all, has to move forward.
“Man,” says Wallace D. Wattles in “The Science of Being Great,” has the inherent power by which he may grow in whatsoever direction he pleases, and there does not appear to be any limit to the possibilities of his growth.”
There’s a fine thread in our being that smoothens the going to the fulfillment of our goals and dreams.
It is this: we need to establish a “child-to-father relationship.” Which explains, we told our Amazing Grace audience why some prayers are not probably answered for the petitioner’s failure to connect with the father.
If that child-to-father connection is sealed, there’d be no doubt of its power.

Brilliant and powerful human rights lawyer Lorna Patajo-Kapunan, 63, daughter of the former Justice Lino Patajo of Tayug, Pangasinan is the province’s bet for the Senate, under Grace Poe’s ticket.
Lorna is related to the Mejias of Pangasinan, including Dr. Roland Mejia of the Region 1 Medical Center and political heavyweight, former Mayor Badong Perez of San Manuel town.
She will be guest at the President Hotel’s Breakfast Club meeting on Feb. 17, a Wednesday, says Atong Remogat, one of her Pangasinan coordinators.
A UP Law graduate, Atty. Lorna is remembered for her courageous lawyering of the oppressed, abused women and human rights issues.
An honoree of the Capitol Post’s List of Newsmakers of Region 1, Lorna will do us Pangasinenses proud if she gets elected in the Senate.
She deserves every Pangasinense’s support.

Look who took the Toyota-Calasiao crowd by storm last Thursday!
The beauteous, former Bulacan Councilor Shalani Soledad Romulo, wife of Senatorial bet Roman Romulo. She was in the company of Engr. Sendong So and Toyota-Calasiao top honchos Juanito and Jasper Ong.
When we shook hands, we reminded her about our meeting during the presidential campaign for Noynoy led by Dale Cabrera and Solo de Venecia.
Shalani is a charismatic campaigner, but she lost the congressional race in Bulacan. There indeed are people who are good in pushing for others, but not themselves.

We were advised not to release the result of the gubernatorial straw ballot at the President Hotel Breakfast Club forum because Sendong So was guest speaker.
“He packed the audience with Mark Cojuangco supporters!” wailed a supporter of Pogi Espino.
In fairness, Sendong did not take with him his PR boys, but they came for the news.
Sendong lashed at rice smugglers who are bleeding the country dry.
What makes Sendong stand out in the political scene is that although he’d prefer to stay behind, his non-partisan treatise on the country’s agri industry is genuine and patriotic.

Our Muslim brothers under Guia Macmod, a former MILF commander, are happy to inform Gov. Amado Espino Jr. that their ranks have been cleansed of shenanigans.
Guia, an admirer of the Governor, says “we 60,000 Muslims in Pangasinan can only show our gratitude to the government by playing our roles as good and upright citizens.
It’s heartwarming that the once notorious drugs lair in a Muslim-controlled community has already disappeared.
Maybe, it’s well for the Governor to now constitute the Muslim Consultative Commission and integrate their developmental contribution to the province.
