Playing with Fire
We told you so!
By Gonzalo Duque
YOU all saw the Pulse Asia survey. Duterte by a mile, 34% in Metro Manila!
He eclipsed Grace Poe, Jojo Binay, Mar Roxas and Miriam Santiago in such a way that they could not catch up.
Know what?
Ang tao ay galit sa kriminalidad. Grabe na ang bansa natin. Yes, sirs, madams, with Rody Duterte in Malacanang – the drug problem will be wiped out.
He knows how to do it.
Just look at Davao, the largest city (in land area) in the world. Very peaceful. You can walk its streets even at midnight without any anxiety.
Denials galore? Yes, the guy doesn’t want the presidency. But the position is running after him.
Duterte vs Poe?
Well, look at this. Poe is being questioned based on constitutional grounds.
Duterte on a technical matter — the issue of substitution. Nothing more.
As we wrote this, kay dami anng nag-text, all saying, “we are with your candidate, sir!”
Parang nabuksan ang kanilang bagong pag-asa. Magiging peaceful na ang Pinas. Ok, ngarud?
Sigue, we were telling Jun Velasco, pag nag-presidente si Rody, we’ll write a book about him. He, JV, and Gie Pasalo, the poetess, will help us do the Duterte book.
Ha?? Magiging executive secretary niya tayo?
No need. We’re happy where we are. Tutulong lang tayo. Mabuhay si Duterte!

We do not dislike Dagupan police chief Chris Abrahano… although, we heard medyo hindi niya ata type ang pagiging outspoken natin.
But this we can say. He, Chris, has a lot of explaining to do why Dagupan has remained problematic in peace and order. A few days ago, another Indian national was killed. He, Omar, was president of a Rotary Club.
Shortly before that, well-known business executive Adolfo Fernandez Jr., was killed in the vicinity of a cockpit. Ok, maybe, it’s not Dagupan area, but it’s so close to the city’s territory.
What our local police should not forget is that the drug problem here, specifically in Barangays Bonuan Gueset and Binloc, in Pantal, Sitio Aling, etc. are still hot spots. Anytime, same killings, same troubles will happen in the place.
What gets our goat is that even with Mayor Belen’s all-out support, why does the drug problem still persist?
One time, maybe you were smarting from the Dionisio Borromeo drug case (Borno was Abrahano’s predecessor), we asked Chris Abrahano if he was protecting the drug lords. Of course, he said “no,” but his body language showed discomfort.
Sana …..Sana….ang police chief natin ay klaro ang stand sa isyu na ito. He should state firmly and unequivocally that he is against drug lords … para sa kapakanan ng lahat.
This paper, the Sunday Punch, has its unenviable crusade: stop and slam the drug problem.
We were told several groups are praying that this crusade will be successful.
Pls. join the prayer – let’s storm the heavens to make it succeed.
