School officials as drug addicts

BEBOT-VILLAR

By Bebot Villar

MY office just received the latest information that the Dagupan City Police has captured its top 2 and top 9 drug personalities in two (2) consecutive days! Congratulations!

We learned that the arrested top 2 suspects operate both in Pantal and Bonuan in Dagupan City!

Imagine, even a high school principal who basically is a teacher, a mentor, a disciplinarian, and of course, a father, was already hooked! I really can’t imagine how he was persuaded to use shabu??  Hiyang-hiya talaga ako para kay Sir Winy!

Mixed feelings ako for our respected principal. He has all the qualifications that’s why he became a principal, but what happened now?  Sayang ka naman, Sir!

The DepEd, if it still doesn’t have it, should formulate a rule governing such a situation. Such an incident should not be allowed by the higher authorities to happen again. Nakakahiya! Ilan pa kayang teachers ang addict or pusher?

If Mr. Dumlao needs rehabilitation, he should be admitted at the Dagupan City Rehab, but still, buying and using illegal drugs are two different stories!

We are thankful to Dagupan City Police for their anti-drug campaign during the conference called lately by their hardworking mayor particularly for the illegal drug problems of noted barangays in the city – Bonuan Binloc and Gueset.  However, this Pantal area is now gaining popularity already!

I fear for the Pantal drug-infected community. What do we expect from an environment known for being notorious?

We should not stop from helping this barangay dahil kawawa ang mga tao rito. Again, I maintain that the drug trading thrives in barangays because the barangay leaders tolerate it.

At least, Dagupan City is already moving to eliminate the problem. How about the other cities and municipalities? What are they waiting for?

Once the filing of Certificates of Candidacy is over, we will now know who among them are truly willing to serve beyond the call of duty. We can begin to evaluate their background, experiences and accomplishments.

Most importantly, check if your candidate/s have plans for to solve the problem of illegal drugs.  Learn about their plans of action, hindi lang puro motherhood statements ang paniwalaan. What we need leaders who will lead us to progress, and help build a peaceful and drug-free community.

More or less, may idea na kayo kung ano talaga sila.

There may come a time when we feel we can only choose among the less evil but even if that happens, alaming mabuti kung sila nga ang less evil.

We are now living in digital world, and there’s the social media that’s why I am confident that our people can give themselves enough time to weigh everything. We only have one vote each so let us use it very wisely.
