CHO Carbonell: Mere black propaganda
Leonard L. Carbonell, MD
May 7, 2014
This is in reaction to an item published in your Punchline column of Sunday Punch, May 4, 2014 edition where alleged City Health workers in Dagupan have accused me of acquiring 5 luxury vehicles, an apartment building and a house. I know I am the one being alluded to since thee lies are being peddled by the same group of 3-4 persons and have been going on for almost a year now. These are the facts:
- I do not own 5 luxury vehicles as alleged. What my family owns and registered in my name, my wife and my physician daughter are 2005 Toyota Altis, 2008 Toyota Innova and 2010 Honda accord (these are not even luxury cars). The 2005 Chevrolet sedan was only mortgaged (see attached mortgage document) to my wife as part of the lending business with her partners. My accusers can easily check with the LTO for other cars they alleged I owned and they can have it.
- We have been living in the same house on a 180 sq meters lot for 24 years which we are still paying since it is mortgaged for 25 years from the Home Development Mutual Fund (PAG-IBIG).
The apartment building is a renovated duplex apartment also on a 180 sq meter lot the cost of which has been loaned from a bank as per attached photocopy loan documents. The other half of the duplex apartment is owned by my sister who lives in Canada and reserved for her when she retires or comes home for a visit.
Our residence and the duplex apartment is at Lapu-lapu Street, Tondaligan Beach Subdivision, Bonuan Gueset and anybody can go there to check and ask my neighbors.
My accuser/s have been doing these black propaganda against me and my family for reasons I will reveal in due time. One of them is really good at this, being one of those involved in the black propaganda against former Mayor Al Fernandez during his 1995 re-election bid, he/they have seen sending letters to Mayor Belen T. Fernandez, media outlets and city hall offices under the cloak of being anonymous, concerned citizens, concerned city health employees or using fictitious names.
My wife and I have worked so hard for what we have now and all I want is fair play. I dare these coward accusers to come out in the open and file their cases against me in the appropriate or courts so I can answer these allegations in the venue and forum.
Thank you.
Respectfully,
LEONARD L. CARBONELL M.D.
