Red alert in malls and beaches

BEBOT VILLAR

By Bebot Villar

RECENTLY, we learned how the criminals work very hard to get rich quick! This so-called “martilyo gang” has been busy operating in the metro manila malls proving that a rob-and-sell of jewelries is very profitable.

Wonder ko lang how these armed men can enter the malls in spite of the strict security measures being enforced. Security guards have metal detectors and subject bags to inspection, so paano nakakalusot ang mga armas? Ka-conchaba ba ang mga ilang sikyu?

If they can do this thing in the metropolis, sigurado they can do the same in our province!

So I urge everyone to be very observant and alert while malling. The group is very bold and really quite efficient in robbing jewelry shops within 5-7 seconds only.

Also, it is high time we consider other options to effectively counter the modus  operandi of these criminals. For starters, the jewelry shop owners should already try other ways to display their precious items.

I raise this concern today because our province is now holding many month-long activities that attract many visitors and tourists. Criminals often target crowded areas to escape easy detection and for easy get-away by getting lost in the crowd.

People love to go malling specially during weekends with their family. So, hello PNP! Please do all to make our malls safe for them.

Summer time is here again!

Busy ngayon ang Department of Health (DOH) reminding and warning our people on the various illnesses and diseases that too much heat can cause kasama diyan ang sore eyes at heat stroke that can cause death.

Then, beaches in Pangasinan and La Union are now teeming with picnickers, swimmers and sunbathers. Kailangan mas-alerto at maingat ang mga barangay. Dapat naka-red alert ang mga barangay. There must be trained lifeguards and strict rules to be enforced to avoid accidents and loss of lives.

People tend to be carefree and careless once they hit the beach. Most of the time, some parents even forget that they have small children to look after.

So while summertime means fun, it should also remind us not to risk our lives by being disciplined.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the organizers of 2014 ASNA Awards for having chosen me as one of their awardees.

I am deeply honored to be counted as one of the outstanding Pangasineses in our time along with other distinguished and accomplished citizens of the province.

There can be no other more significant honor that one can receive than those bestowed on you by your own province and kabaleyans who acknowledge your contribution to the province’s and its people’s development and progress.

Kaya sa mga organizers ng 434th Agew na Pangasinan celebration, marami salamat po! Congratulations to Governor Espino and the Provincial Board for making Pangasinan beautiful and clean place to live in.  I am proud to be a Pangasinense!
