Let’s move on

The people have spoken.

To those who served their properties as loan collateral para may perang pambili ng boto and yet natalo pa rin kayo, condolence sa inyo.

Good thing Pangasinan had a generally very peaceful conduct of last Monday’s election. No bloodshed so far, only verbal tussle. And yes, it was Board Member Ranjit Ramos Shahani, who, based on a police report, reportedly said, in his signature sarcastic style” Huwag iboboto ang mga hoodlums, bang bang bang!”

What was that for? To whom it may concern?

In the area at that time was Carlo Perez, son of Vice Mayor Badong Perez and brother of Mayor Alain Jericho Perez of San Manuel town, to vote while Ranjit ay nasa kanyang “tantrum mode”.

As for Ranjit, what was his purpose for being there? Ang alam ko taga-Asingan siya and he votes there. Overly concerned kaya siya sa San Manuel? May manok ba siyang inaalagaan doon? Di ba non-partisan dapat ang barangay election? If, for the sake of argument, he rushed there because of an alarming report, why didn’t he just asked the police or Comelec to look into it kung ano man yun? Wala ba siyang tiwala sa kanila?

Nangyari ang unsavory exchange sa Juan C. Laya Elementary School sa San Manuel few minutes before the closing of Monday’s barangay election. Naturally, hearing Ranjit’s nasty remarks, Carlo quickly reacted to Ranjit. Who was Ranjit alluding to in his remarks?

Buti na lang cooler heads prevailed kaya’t walang nangyaring physical violence otherwise baka magmukhang New Year with the series of “bang bang” ang maririnig doon.

But apparently, hindi pa diyan nagtatapos ang kwentong yan because Ranjit said he would file charges against Carlo.

The seasoned politician Badong is not a bit worried sa threat ni Ranjit to sue his son. Maraming witness daw si Badong. Siyempre, Perez kingdom yan eh.

It looks like deep-seated ang galit sa isa’t-isa ng parehong kampo at kailangang umabot pa sa ganito.

Now that the election is over, time to move on na tayo. Let’s stop all that heckling and insults para ma-avoid ang ang samaan ng loob. To the winners, congrats, at sa mga losers, better luck next time. Aralin nyong mabuti why you lost and learn from your defeat. I’m sure may lesson yan sa inyo. Perhaps the post is not meant for you, so try to explore other doors of opportunity, or better still, just be a simple private citizen and enjoy life.

To the voters naman na nasilaw sa P300 in exchange for three years of suffering under a lousy leader, buti nga sa inyo. Magdusa kayo.

Because of the cash, hayun, they just voted with their eyes closed.

If you sold your vote, huwag na kayong umasang tutupad sa tawag ng serbisyo ang mga pinaboran nyong barangay officials nyo na namili ng inyong sacred votes.

You get the kind of government you deserve!
