I find it very depressing when I read about children being maimed or killed by fireworks “celebrating” the coming of the New Year. I know it would do no good to ban the sale of these killers because there will always be the underground sales.

Here in Union City, CA, there is a zero tolerance on the sale or use of illegal fireworks but there are still those who violate these laws. The only solution is education and imposing a heavy fine and incarceration on the sellers and users.

On another subject, what happened “global warming.”

Last night, New Year’s Eve, I was in Reno, NV. The temperature was 16 degrees Fahrenheit (-8.8 celsius). Tonight in Union City it is now 34 degrees F (1.1 degrees C). The snow pack in the Sierra Mountains is 160% above normal. Again, what happened to “global warming.”
