WHAT happened to Vice-Mayor to Belen T. Fernandez and her entourage on the road recently justifies the placing of the city under Comelec control. Harassing a candidate is not a laughing matter. Unless this is resolved in a timely fashion, it’s a prelude to a serious confrontation between the two warring groups in Dagupan.

The police should throw the book at Ric Ceralde who seems to have been ordered to do the harassing. He is an independent candidate who is not interested to win at all. He has a mission to do. And, he is bound to accomplish it.

Driving under the influence (DUI) justifies the filing of charges against him. Not unless this guy is taught a lesson, other “paid hacks” will follow suit.

Belen should not treat this matter with hands akimbo. Though she is a woman-candidate, she should show that she is capable of matching their strength with stealth power.

Complaining to the police will make matters worse. Police mentality is not easy to decipher.
