Re: delicadeza no longer the norm

Mr. Leonard J. Galvez:

I shouldn’t have poked my nose in a biting display on how you depicted Ermin’s column on Mideo Cruz, as an scholarly-written masterpiece, an archetype of doctoral dissertation.

I do agree!

But, Ermin’s argument based on the 2nd Amendment – the right to bear arms – is flawed.

His contention: “For instance, one has freedom and the right to possess a firearm but that does not give one the freedom and the right to kill with it.”

So, this idea of buying and keeping a gun with no possibility of using it, is just a part of playing with a toy, which contradicts all written procedure why the gun was invented.

If, somebody entered my house to rob and whatever might be in the criminal’s mind, then I have all the right – under the Constitution – to blow him away to kingdom come.

Self-defense . . . the act to protect oneself from bodily harm or possible death with a gun, is also justified.

The dish of a meal . . .

What’s the hullabaloo on Mideo Cruz’s skillfully-done-work of a painting?

You questioned the morality of Mideo’s work because it showed contempt on what the Catholic Church represents. But, does it mean you’re going too far to condemn him, without proper scrutiny on this man being an artist?

Looking at the pieces of art the Vatican has at its disposal – whether paintings or sculptures – done by the Medieval and Renaissance masters . . . most of them are completely naked, which the corrupt Catholic Church calls immoral.

Or, you’re playing the sentiments of the Catholic Church not the people, to look . . . good and smelling like a rose.

This law applies in the Philippines as well where I live.
