Re: Different forms of history
Once upon a time we used to play bamboo swords behind the “palatong” of Bonuan High School as Rajahs’ of the Moro-moros. What a wonderful time as heroes of the day. Many played Captain America but during our time as the US was far from our minds as the hero as the thousand of miles that separate our lands. But nay I had a big poster of my Juan dela Cruz real or not in my room. I assume most kids have even today.
Yes we have our fantasy and other kids from other lands had theirs. Maybe Urduja was my Bae’s and some many others hero roaming the sand dunes of Bonuan. For now stories had been told as the folks we read in the Sari-Sari stores a long long time ago. Enjoy the supot na gawgaw kabaleyan as our laki’ had.
