Re: SP set to override veto on trike fare
Again Mayor Lim has shown his concern for the people of Dagupan. The Sangguniang Panlungsod (Madam Belen’s lackies) is determined to further punish the tricycle riding public by not only raising the fares from P7 to P10 for the first 2 kilometers instead of the 3 kilometer the mayor wants.
Yes, I know the price of fuel has risen but that rise has not only hurt the drivers but also the general public.
Remember that this is the same SP members who put hundreds of drivers out of work by banning the two-cycle trikes.
The last time I was in Dagupan I didn’t see any improvement in the air I was breathing. The only effect of the ban was probably an increase in “political contributions” the SP members may have received from Federation Accredited Tricycle Organization of Dagupan (FATODAG).
Banning the two-cycle engines and making it more difficult to obtain or renew a license meant a lot less competition for the large tricycle owners.
