Mr. Carrera,
The building of nuclear plants has nothing to do with greed. If greed is the only motivation for improvement, so be it. If greed is a primary reason for improvement then I can assume that are you there in Guam making U.S. dollars because you are greedy.
No, the majority of the Pangasinenses are not stupid although many in the Philippines and the U.S. should be educated on the risk versus positives of nuclear energy.
Yes, there was a catastrophe in Japan that damaged several nuclear plants. As tragic as this may be, how many times has there been an earthquake of a magnitude 8+plus earthquake followed by a devastating tsunami? The U.S. Navy fleet of aircraft carriers, cruisers and submarines are all nuclear-powered. Should they all be dismantled because there is a threat of a breakdown?
On the domestic side, according to the “no nukes now” thinking maybe the hospitals should stop using Xrays and radiation treatment for cancer. After all these are categorized as Nuclear medicine. Maybe we might as well go back to blood letting to cure an illness, yes?
Today the use of nuclear energy is in its infancy. In the future most of the energy that will be used by man will be nuclear powered. Man will be traveling to distant galaxies using nuclear power. This will only be done through trial and error and in this process there will be mishaps but in the end man will prevail.
