Better nuclear plants

Re: Risks vs. benefits
I find it utterly stupid the fear people have of nuclear power. No preparation can be made to ensure the safety of any plant one hundred percent be it nuclear, fossil fueled, or what have you.
The earthquake that struck Japan was almost 200 time stronger than the one that struck Dagupan July 16, 1990. There were no nuclear plants in Dagupan yet thousands died. The recent Japanese earthquake and tsunami has killed over ten thousand people and destroyed cities, yet no deaths so far have been attributed to the nuclear plants.
People have to remember that with every disaster lessons are learned. The Japanese and other nations who rely on nuclear energy will use this disaster to build better and safer plants. Mankind cannot progress if it hides its head in the sand when it fears something.
