I think you are misleading the public regarding the years the Spaniards ruled the Philippines. It is officially 3 centuries not 1 century blah blah blah as you wrote.

The book you might have taken the date it was not reliable, pls do more research before publishing in the papers. Thanks.

Dear Mr. Dela Cruz,
In response to your posting, the periods being referred to in that paragraph are from the start of Philippine independence, so it was 1 century, 1 decade and 2 years from 1898 (which makes for the 112th anniversary celebration).
