Think about it – Martial Law

The imposition of Marcos’ Panzerfaust have its positive and negative sides.

THE NEGATIVE SIDE . . .

To the hardcore left-wingers like Jun Velasco, it was the unacceptable assault on freedom, the “Constitution” he and his fellow Pangalatots kept closed to their hearts.

It was this trampling of civil liberties, that forty (40) years after the fact, him and these shadowy Pangasinan characters (nationalists?) couldn’t forget how they were detained against their will.

But, they were released after Marcos found out – Jun Velasco – and his ragtag band of . . . guerilla de latas . . . were not a threat to the status quo … meaning … they only had BIG MOUTHS, but no … BALLS … to back it up.

THE POSITIVE SIDE . . .

The unaccustomed way how Pinoys were put under Martial Law, brought something the ordinary Pangasinan, was unfamiliar with.

1) Peace and order. No drive-by shootings, no broad daylight robberies, and everybody were only allowed to have … talibongs … no guns. No capital crimes compared to present day.

And to the smart-like-a-coyote Pangasinan, he acquired the idea what curfew was all about.

2) Discipline. For the first time in Pinoy’s history everybody learned to tow the line.
