So it goes again, politics before the welfare of the people. Could it be that Fourth District Rep. Gina de Venecia was expecting something in return before she would back the fish plant? Remember it was her husband, Jose, who protected Gloria Arroyo every time impeachment charges were brought against her. It was only after the snake bit back him JDV turn against GMA. It must also be remembered that it was Speaker of the House Jose De Venecia who was responsible for inviting and convincing the State Grid of China (and their bribery money) to participate in the privatization of the Philippines National Electricity Grid.
When bidding is set on who will operate the fish plant, let’s hope that it will be done in an honest way and not as China attempted to do with the country’s electronic grid, with bribe money. No one is accusing the JDV of having known about the Chinese bribery nor would anyone accuse “Manay Gina” of any wrong doing, but with Philippine politics as it is, where there’s smoke there may be fire.
