Re: Not for rebel cops and soldiers
Ravy Dan Mojica Allorde,
I would like to remind you that we live in a free and democratic country. Anybody can run for any elective position whether leftist, rightist, communist, or anybody with different ideology. As long as you meet the minimum age and residency requirement, citizenship and you are breathing, then definitely you can run.
The people are the final arbiter in any democratic exercise. It is inherent right of the people to remove or topple any leader/s who abuse their authority.
Karapatan at kapangyarihan ito ng tao na hindi puwedeng ipagbawal ninoman.
In every election, we have the opportunity to change the leadership, which we could call a peaceful revolution. Democracy does not come cheap…lives, blood and sweats are sacrifices in the name of freedom so we could enjoy its fruits.
We need to be careful and vigilant this coming election. We cannot afford a failure of election or there will be power vacuum.
The Roman Senators plotted and killed Julius Caesar and look what happened, the Roman Empire was in chaos due to a civil war. Let us not be judgmental about the rebels and ex-rebels, they are Filipinos first before they become soldiers.
“Vox populi, Vox dei” The voice of the people is the voice of God.
