Waste, a byproduct of progress

Yes, solar energy is being used today. I have solar panels to heat my swimming pool. I also have to use a gas heater when there isn’t enough sunlight for the solar panels to work. Also, about fifteen miles from my house there is a windmill farm. Dozens of these windmills not only generate energy but also kill thousands of birds with its churning vanes. These windmill vanes not only kill birds they also produce so much noise that they have been banned from most urban areas.

Waste? How do we produce the necessities of life? We could cut trees to cook and heat with but what do we do with the ashes? Most clothing is produced from synthetic material. How do we clothe ourselves; go back to wearing fig leaves?

In today’s world, waste is a by-product of progress. We must rely on technology to reduce waste. Nuclear energy and recycling is the most efficient.
