Not for abortion

Re: Value of life
Pepingbonuan, I have said nothing about terminating life in the womb. I am against abortion, period. What I do not believe in is bringing into this world a child to live a life of misery because the parents cannot afford to feed it. How often have you seen or heard children crying at night because of hunger? I have seen many couples with six or more children with no steady means of income having more babies. I have seen the poor with growing or grown children, again, having babies which they can ill afford to feed, let alone educate.
The Reproductive Health Bill simply allows the poor a means of being able to receive birth control items from the government. Because there would be a way to receive birth control pills, condoms, etc, from the government it would eliminate much of the unwanted pregnancies and prevent many underground or self induced abortions from being performed.
Again, the Catholic Church does not have to feed or educate the children (In case you are wondering I am a Catholic.) Also, since she denounce the passage of the RH Bill, it would be interesting if the Punch would investigate to see how much of Her Highness Belin Fernandez’s personal wealth or money from her CSI Malls she donates to feed the hungry children that she advocates we keep bringing into this world. Talk is cheap but actions speak louder.
