When the sun breaks through

Re: When patriotism disappears
Not all who leave the Philippines lose their love for their homeland. I know many who plan to return to the land of their birth upon retirement. I was born a U.S. citizen in La Union, lived my entire life from 1945 in America. I have never lost my love for the Philippines and I have never thought less of the Filipinos who leave the country for a better life elsewhere. What I despise are those who live with all the comforts the U.S. offers while never having anything good to say about the land they ran away from.
Instead of bitching about things, do something positive. There are many schools in the barangays that are in need of supplies, send them something when you can. Remember, the future of the Philippines lies with the education of the children.
It feels better when the sun breaks through the clouds and the rain stops. I know that sounds corny but that is my philosophy, always look for the positive. I have been to many places much worse than the Philippines, some of it in the U.S.
