A whitewash

Re: SRPC, NPC execs: Not guilty
This is another cover-up by San Roque Multipurpose Dam (SRMD) management to whitewash the mediocrity of operating engineers and staff of the dam.
The amount of water that’s been released at spilling condition has no basis at all. It’s either ill-timed and too late requiring larger volume of water aggravating the rampaging flood down the swollen Agno River to maintain the level of water at the dam below its breaking point.
I didn’t see a water gauge in place near the foot of Carmen Bridge or as far as the town of Bayambang to gauge the height of the flood line occurring at that time. Without these vertical gauges, there’s no way they can estimate the amount of water to be released.
If none, the staff is just guessing and was groping in the dark. This is all common sense. Also, during the Senate hearing, NPC execs admitted they don’t have any approved protocol to define operation of the dam during a calamity.
They should all (mgt staff including NPC execs) be summarily fired for dereliction of duty.
A woman president like PGMA can’t handle tough issues especially if those appointees are golf buddies of her FG. Not in my wildest dreams.
