Re: Dagupan hospitals lost major equipment to flood
I was reminded of what we learned in kindergarten when I read this article. We used to practice for all kinds of preparedness for disasters, earthquakes, and fires, and even heavy rains. So what kind of contingency was the hospital administrator prepared to exercise and execute?
I guess they had a contingency to evacuate patients and save themselves from the floodwaters. Or was that just common sense? Do they even have a plan to bring their expensive equipment to higher areas?
Before they go out raising their buildings, consider having plans to execute that will minimize damage to priority equipment. It’s easier to change policies than to engage in expensive material and structural design. They could even assign and recall personnel to help bring equipment to higher grounds, wouldn’t you think?
In fact they could execute policy changes today to save valuable life saving equipment.
