The existence of these fish pens is not new to us and the question really is how deep our city or provincial officials are involved in perpetuating such environmentally disastrous structures to remain untouchable.
Only those people who can intimidate, control and influence the government office that is tasked to eradicate these pens, do this at will.
I know lots of fishpond owners whose businesses have gone belly up because of the effects of these fish pens.
Kawawa naman tayong Dagupenos, ang ganda ng buhay natin noon, daming isda, at mga sari-saring seafoods pa na nakukuha sa fishponds pero ngayon para tayong pinarusahan ng Diyos halos wala ng makukuha pati sa mga ilog natin.
Sana matauhan na yong mga opisyales ng siyudad natin at ipagtanggol ang interest ng mga kabaleyan natin.
