Questions that should have been asked

The floods do not have a political color, it ran over everyone. So all government officials should ask the questions they should have asked when the operators announced the release of water from the dam: What would the effect of 5cms to my town in 30 minutes, 1 hour, two hours? Would it erode the Gomez Bridge in Santa Barbara, drown all living things by rising so fast that no one could get away? Leave De Venecia highway in Dagupan intact? Break every dike in Pangasinan? Grown SM Shoemart in Villasis? Split MacArthur Hwy in Binalonan?

Governor Espino said in ANC news yesterday, “when San Roque dam started releasing water Bayambang was not flooded but with a release of 5cms it was flooded in an hour.” So the cause and effect could easily be traced. Every town in Pangasinan should report what time the flood waters started killing people and destroying millions of properties.

It’s unbelievable that a model of water pressure and volume was not simulated in today’s technological age. Every leader in Pangasinan should now have a model in their offices so they could monitor the disaster of this man made structure and mitigate the risk to their people. The next one according to PAGASA is on the way!

Every government official in Pangasinan needs to get a fire truck simulation of effect of water pressure on them. Bombahan sila ng tubig. Sometimes physical experience is useful to wake up.
