Re: BSL hits PUNCH for news on Ombudsman complaint

I agree with the following statement: “Editor – It is the given duty of a legitimate newspaper worthy of its name to constantly be on the lookout for sources of legitimate news, and not to wait for press releases of politicians.”

What I disagree with is he fact that the Punch is so blatantly bias when it comes on reporting on the city government.

The only time in recent history the Punch reported a negative article on Her Highness was when the city council voted to take away some of Fernandez’s power. Every electronic edition of the Punch has pictures of the vice mayor. Usually the pictures depict Fernandez hob-nobbing with provincial or national figures or giving away money which the city had been earned because of Mayor Lims pro business agenda.

Remember, a city cannot run with out the tax money that the city has earned because of the mayor’s business friendly policies. The last Fernandez left the city in a mess.

Let us learn from his mistakes and not put another Fernandez in the mayor’s seat. We want a growing city not a “growing” mayor. The city needs a mayor with vision for the city. All Dagupan would get with Belen Fernandez is a vision of herself on the thrown.

It is obvious where the Punch stands on its politics but please try to be a little bit fairer.

(Editor:  Yes, the PUNCH is biased… against graft and corruption).
