Pray, Teach & Act
Thanks to Gonzalo Duque for the grim reminder. Ondoy and Pepeng gave us a wake-up call. During this crisis, we indeed need to pray.
However, we don’t stop there. Our political, religious and educational leaders should take this opportunity to teach our people. Of course, they can talk about the sanctity of marriage and other moral issues, but at this time we need to learn more about caring for the environment, planting more trees instead of deforestation, minimizing pollution, and some sensible urban planning.
Thinking and talking about plans are not enough. There should be more real action.
Let’s do PTA (Pray, Teach and Act), and stop blaming God always for catastrophes which are mostly caused by people.
