Concoctions about Pangasinan
Eduardo Pontaoe
23 June 2009
Dear Mr. Carrera,
Before the advent of the Spaniards, Pangasinan never existed as an entity with a civilian government.
The idea of a Princess Urduja reigning supreme is a fantasy that belongs in the world of the Brothers Grimm.
There’s nothing out there to establish the founding of Pangasinan prior to the governor generalship of Juan de Silva.
All these concoctions promulgated on the sides to sideswipe history with just the blink of an eye without proper scrutiny is an affront to Pangasinenses.
Is it Mr. Carrera, proposals like the birthdate of Speaker Perez of San Carlos, with all due respect to the man could give credence to the founding?
I don’t think so!
In due course, D’Gonz will wake up to Socrates.
