Focus of research on Pangasinan day

Dear Mr. Pontaoe:
The determination of the founding day of Pangasinan is very interesting issue to research not only for historians, students, teachers, researchers, and people like you and me.
I have very limited knowledge in history and I therefore would like to know if there was a ruler or a leader that claimed and governed the area then known as Pangasinan as his or her territory before the Spanish rule.
If there is none, then Mr. Pontaoe’s suggestion is correct and must be the concentration of the research for formal confirmation.
