Winners in CIDG-I golf tourney bared

By Lito Ang

It was a job well done by gentlemen and officers Col. Federico “Jun” Castro and Col. Manny Velasco for sponsoring the 1st CIDG-I open Golf Tournament last April 2, 2006 at Dagupan Golf and Beach Club.

Can anyone stop this guy Ed Abellera who picked up another Low Gross Award as the over-all champion followed by Supt. Bong Catabay-over-all Net Champion. The other winners are:

  •    Class A Champion: Dr. Rod Segui
  •    Class A 1st runner-up: Bong Caramat
  •    Class A 2nd runner-up: Robbie Samson
  •    Class B Champion: Dr. Benedict Bernal
  •    Class B 1st runner-up: Dr. Benedict Bernal
  •    Class B 1st runner-up: O.J. Nolasco
  •    Class B 2nd runner-up: Jorge Rillera
  •    Class C Champion: Martin “Smart” Co
  •    Class C. 1st runner-up: Albert Ubando
  •    Class C 2nd runner-up: Ernie Dispo

A big hand to you Col. Castro for making this event a very successful one.

Here are more tidbits of golfing involving Dagupan Golf Club members:

March 16, 2006: Robbie Samson emerged as the champion under Class B category during the 1st TMG Golf Tournament of Camp Aguinaldo.

March 28, 2006: Ritchie Abalos won over-all low gross champion while Robbie Samson settled as the over-all Low Net Champion. Dr. Rod Segui, our club president, captured the Class A category as champion at the Philippine Navy Golf Club

Congratulations and keep on swinging guys.

So sorry to hear about the passing away of Mang Dong last Tuesday. (May 2, 2006). My condolences to the bereaved family of the late Dong Catayong of Lingayen, Pangasinan.

Mang Dong, being a golfer, just drove straight, no slices or hooks all the way to the 19th hole. Rest in peace and may God Bless You! Members of the Dagupan Golf & Beach Club mourn for you and the “Spice Boys” will surely miss you. Goodbye, friend!
