Re: Playing with fire – a mishmash of suspicions
The Palarong Pambansa, is all but over.
The accolades coming from … Mr. Gonzalo … himself, being poured upon Governor Espino how the games was ran, is overwhelmingly blown to high heavens – greater than the waters of the Gulf put together.
But, what’s not exposed, are those things Mr. Gonzalo wouldn’t dare, to have the courage to disclose, so not to get the ire of the governor, being one of his over-enthusiastically kiss-my-ass boys. Simply put, the accommodations of those wide-eyed athletes were blah, and complaints were summarily dismissed not to stir the pot of “success”.
Puny or phony . . .
The weakness of the games can be seen in the non-coverage of foreign newspapers, that even this popular Filipino newsweekly based in California, gave a token write-up deep in the pages of the magazine.
However, if scrutiny’s unleashed on this show of leadership and cooperation . . . Mr. Gonzalo’s words . . . even a blockhead will see the fakery, that only a – fakir – like Espino and his man-Friday extraordinaire Rafael “Excuses” Baraan could concoct, than even President Aquino himself wouldn’t notice.
For all intents and purposes, huge amount of money was made to make everybody happy. The tentacles of Urduja – I was told – was into everything percentage wise, into hotels, the food caterers, and the services needed for the games to function.
Also, inquiring minds would like to know how much it cost to finance the games. I hope Gov. Espino will be transparent this time, not like when he painted the Capitolio beige, and zipped his mouth throwing away the key.
