Corruption in RP no different from Illinois

Eduardo Pontaoe,
Knowing that you come from Chicago, a city known for crooked politicians, I can understand your complete distrust in all politicians, but please when it comes to the Philippines, don’t include the average Filipino. They are the victims of these crooked politicians.
The electorate need to be educated in the voting system. Because a politician is a former movie star or part of a political dynasty does not mean that their hearts are for the people. We, in the U.S. suffer from same problem of movie stars turned politicians or political families being elected because of nothing but name recognition or political affiliation.
Yes, there is political corruption in the Philippines but no more than in your state of Illinois or the other 49 states. The only difference is, in the U.S. the crooks, with the complicity of the main stream media, are more sophisticated in hiding their dirty deeds.
When the voters learn to elect their representative on substance and PAST performance and not because of their name or what they promise, that is when you will feel the fresh breeze of a revitalized country.
Happy, happy New Year and may God bless every one.
