Death did not lead to needed legislation

I am very sad that Gina and JDV’s daughter whose death (due to inexistence of a nationally adopted building code in the USA-the correct and safe installation of window grilles) could have but did not prompt the legislation of a similar provision in the Philippine National Building Code. Unfortunately, the horrific tragedy did not even bother or moved JDV who was then the Speaker to spearhead such legislation.
The news of the tragedy and the press releases really did not even mention it as a preventable accident that is in need of appropriate legislation for a long time and after so many people died from it.
Dahil hindi magkakapera, kaya walang hangad ang mga maykapangyarihan na bigyan ng lunas ang malaking problemang ito.
That shows the mentality of the majority of Filipino politicians and the public at large.
