Rachel Arenas is on right track

By Gonzalo Duque

We were hearing some brickbats hurled by a few columnists (or columnists) against freshman Rep. Rachel Arenas.

What are they complaining about?

‘Sipsip at sopsop’ daw siya kay Ate Glo.

Ganun ba? So what? Di ba ganyan ang dapat?

Aha! Sabi nila dapat mag-distancia siya if she wants to get reelectred dahil mabaho na raw si Ate Glo. What!!!??
Kayo naman, singa kimet ambalbalingit ya maong.

This is a sad commentary of our times.

Nagpapadala tayo sa what is popular.

Sa ganang akin, si Ate Glo ay so far the best performing president. No tongtongey tua – arawi iran amin ya nampresidente ed si Ate Glo.

Let the facts speak!

That’s why saludo tayo kay Rachel sa pag-si-sipsip at pagso-sopsop niya kay Ate Glo Ompiano walay naala to ya projects tan aray bengat la parad kamaongan tan progreso na distrito to.

If she follows the misleading advice of her detractors, baka walang mapupuntang proyekto sa distrito niya. Kaambagelan!

Ma’m Rachel, kaiba yoak.

Tama kayo. Sipsip, sopsop – ok lang yan so long as you are the heroine in your district. Mabuhay kayo!

Metro Manila Dev’t Auhority Chairman Bayani Fernando met with selected LGUs and a motley group in Pangasinan last Sunday.

Nagkakampanya ba?

Ni, niyay ibagak ed sicayo. Ampano sicatoy anointed nen GMA naani? Analyze this.

Bayani has shown his superb executive skills in Marikina City. The whole world up to now is applauding what he has done to Marikina – shining proof of executive excellence.

Then when he sat as MMDA chairman, dimakep so Metro Manila.

Right, marami ang galit kasi inalis niya ang mga iskwater. But 97% are applauding.

Nakita ng marami na may pagasa ang Pinas kung siya ang susunod na Presidente.

Awey. They say he is not popular compared to the trapos. But we say, governance is not a popularity contest. It is effectiveness and credibility. Bantayan tayon maong ya.

Ompiano providential tay ngaran to – bayani

When former Rep. Nani Braganza decided to run for mayor of Alaminos City, we knew already that he wanted to leave a legacy to the Alaminians.

True. Agaylay dakkel na mandayew ed sicato ed gagawaen tod Alaminos City. Gawaen ton singa Singapore kunoy baley. We agree. Because he has what it takes to be a great LGU executive.

We even suspect Nani has much bigger visions for Alaminos. Mandanka kay daiset, pare, ompiano magmaliw kan “visionary.”

But no problem. He knows how to temper his visions with realistic goals. Yong ginagawa niya sa Hundred Islands to the effect that the natural beauty should not be tampered with his proof of genius.

Mabuhay ka, Nani!

Over in Villasis, you have seen how Mayor Nony Abrenica dramatically transformed the town into a modern agricultural hub.

So we have for this week 2 top mayors – Noni and Nani.

Noni, as most of you could see with your own two eyes, has changed the economic outlook of the once sleepy town. His vegetable center is the cleanest and orderly. The town hall is also an architectural feat.

Most important, maasenso ang kabuhayan sa Villasis.

May your tribe increase, Mayor Noni – to sire a progressive Philippines!
