Bong Go overexposed too early? Nope!

AS the election fever gets hotter, many of our friends, co-workers and countrymen are attracted to the President’s trusted man, Special Assistant Christopher “Bong” Go.
Bong, a non politician, is being pushed to the front as a would-be senator because by and large, those who know him, his real persona as a man with commitment to country and transparency in things that he does, want him to be in a more permanent position for public service.
With his passion for honesty, simplicity and dislike for duplicity, Bong, they say will sweeten or deodorize that office which has been tainted (somewhat) just like its counterparts in the House of “Representa-thieves!” OOPs, nilagyan natin ng quotes ha lest some naughty guys would think of filing a suit!
Know what? Bong Go – or Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, a De La Salle (management) graduate, is a reluctant candidate. And all this pushing for him is coming from people who know him at close range as the most likeable guy to be given responsibility in the arena of leadership.
In our opinion – in the short span that we’ve been allowed some latitude of trust in the President’s circle of trusted friends – the reluctant candidate would easily get elected to the senate although he is not the swashbuckling, pasamano’d dia, pasamano’d tan, bolahan, at iba pa. Why? Because he deserves to be in the senado… hmm… just like our friend, spokesman Harry Roque who should be presumed to be a natural bet of every Punch-man, kasi abogado ng ating fighting dyaryo!
Harry is game whose passion for law, human rights and patriotism is legend! At this point, tinanong tayo ni Jun Velasco, kanayon nen PDI ace columnist Joel Ruiz Butuyan, ano kaya ang rason kung bakit salungat, seemingly, ang political stand nila ni Harry Roque at Joel Ruiz Butuyan and yet they are law partners in Makati City?
Sagot natin: diyan mo makikita ang pruweba ng demokrasyasa ng Duterte government, kahit magkasama nagde-debate in the realm of healthy and vibrant democratic debate. Joel and Harry are the best of friends but they thrive in the ambit of healthy debate!
Joel Butuyan pala, is a blood nephew of Punch’s former columnist, Judge Yul Butuyan of Asingan town.
Back to future Senator Bong Go, our main man –pangalawa si Harry – for the senate.
We cap this note with this line: a vote for Bong is a vote for conscience, people and God! Ok, ngarud?

Marami and nagulat – at natuwa –sa pagbisita ng Pangulo sa Israel at Jordan (as of this writing), kamakailan lang.
Ganyan ang lider! He does what’s really good for the country! O, kayong mga usyoso, mga naguguluhan sa faith ni Pangulo ay nakikita nyo ang pruweba, that he (our president) is a faithful believer.
And for the socio-economic benefit of the country, paramount ang intention ni pangulo: he will try unchartered places just to bring home the bacon.
Up to now, with our economy trying its best to wiggle and wriggle the country to the top, the president will always rely on our gold mine – the OFWs—because they are proven unsung heroes of the land!
Let’s celebrate and toast to Pangulo’s successful forays into foreign lands to beef up and steady the nation’s march to progress.

We warmly greet our late brother, Dr. Salvador “Ado” T. Duque on his 76th birthday on September 18. His wife, the former Mita Sison, is giving out a get-together party at the President Hotel, timed with the launch of her erpat, former Court of Appeals Justice Porfirio V. Sison’s belated birthday, on September 6.
Those who knew brod Ado and his studentship at the UST College of Medicine knew his track record, former chair of the UST Student Council Board.
We are impressed with his great love for Atchi Mita.
When we were touring the President Hotel facilities, we saw the second or mezzanine floor as a copy-cat of the Vicar Skyroom’s own version.
We told some friends, that when Kuya Ado was designing the PH, he must have in mind Vicar Skyroom, the days he and Atchi Mita were dancing to their favorite piece, “It was Fascination” by Nat King Cole.
